Shock sacking of Mark Harvey from Freemantle Dockers

In a very sudden move without any warning , Freemantle Dockers coach Mark Harvey was sacked as coach. Many punters have commented as how the sacking was done was very unethical as the coach was not given any notice of his impending sacking Mark Harvey still had almost a year on his contract to coach the team.

Harvey just the same morning shared a breakfast with Fremantle chairman Steve Harris yesterday and other footy players and coaches in a function and gave a speech about the future of the club only to get the news of his sacking alter in the evening..Ross Lyon is believed to have signed with the Dockers for five years.

Five AFL clubs will have new coaches next year, with Adelaide, Melbourne, the Western Bulldogs and now St Kilda looking for new men.

Fremantle chief executive officer Steve Rosich said in statement that it had been an extremely difficult decision to end Harvey’s tenure at the club, which he had joined as an assistant coach in 2006.

Brownlow medallist and 6PR football commentator Brad Hardie, who spoke to Harvey moments after he was axed,said the triple Essendon premiership player was "distressed and not happy".

The AFL Coaches Association is disappointed that Mark Harvey was not given the opportunity to finish his coaching contract at Fremantle Football Club. AFLCA CEO Danny Frawley said today that clubs’ expectations on coaches are becoming onerous and unrealistic.
