Today is the opening of the new Coventry square markets in Morley. Not all shops will be open today  but the markets are open  with many retailers  and restaurants open for business.”Coventry square” is located right across the already existing Morley galleria supermarket  and has just brought in competition to the neighbourhood. This is going to be more like a open market complementing many retail stores that are not available at the galleria supermarket  so it will be a good addition  for the nearby suburbs  with  two big supermarkets in the area.

Harvey just the same morning shared a breakfast with Fremantle chairman Steve Harris yesterday and other footy players and coaches in a function and gave a speech about the future of the club only to get the news of his sacking alter in the evening..Ross Lyon is believed to have signed with the Dockers for five years.

Fourteen-year-old Angelique van Niekerk won the women’s 4km run to record an impressive victory in 14 min 51sec.

Man dies after City to Surf

City to Surf 2010 – Running at William St, Darlinghurst, NSW 2010 …

Having seen Master chef Neil Perry in cooking shows on television, we certainly were looking forward to a great experience  visiting one of his restaurant chains “ROCKKPOOL BAR & GRILL”. The Long Passageway does definitely impress as soon as you push the big wooden door and enter  the restaurant from the Burswood Hotel reception area and so does  the interiors which definitely has a posh look.

But That was the only good things ( or memory) that  we came back with , unfortunately for us everything else was poor, the service and the  food. For our starters after mulling over the menu and the chili mussels and fried  calamari , we settled to get the traditional garlic prawns  and the sautéed mixed mushrooms ( which is actually is a side ) as  the starters. The sautéed mixed mushrooms were the best dish we tasted over here , even though  it  was a bit annoying that the waiter sounded reluctant to bring  in the mixed mushrooms as a starter and so we settled to get it  later with the mains. The garlic prawns were good , but i have tasted better and bigger garlic prawns at one of the other local restaurant i visit in perth called “DA VINCI” in north Perth.

The mains was the hard part  to decide  after  pondering over the good selection of steaks, Pasta and seafood we decided to go with lamb lion chops with mint jelly $ 38 & WOOD FIRED VEAL CUTLET . About a good 30 minutes later  while we were enjoying our starters and cocktails. the waiters arrived with  the Veal Cutlet and  told my other half  that her lamb lion cutlet was ready and placed it on her table. My other half then got sus and asked what my order was  and the waiter said that my order was also a veal cutlet. My partner repeated what we had ordered  and they suddenly looked a bit confused and  said they will reconfirm  what was ordered.

They came back in a minute and said they were sorry , but a wrong order was placed and both of them were veal cutlets , the head waiter came and informed us  that he was sorry and they were out of lamb lion chops and would she like to  order something else  and they would make it up to her with some complimentary dessert. Given that my veal cutlet had already arrived and we  possibly were looking at another long wait  for her new order to arrive ( being hungry as well by now) , she reluctantly agreed to have the veal cutlet.

That’s where my luck ran out now, luckily enough  the veal cutlet for my partner was rated “just ok” by her , but i got a veal cutlet that was totally burnt , I thought that i might be able to get some good parts in the veal cutlet .. but the burned charred meat ruined the whole flavor in my mouth  and i did not even go through the whole veal cutlet. I tried to hide my displeasure  as it after all was my partners birthday today  and didn’t want the day to get ruined.

I got my usual coffee for dessert  and my the waiter bought a small little cupcake ( to add insult to injury) as a complimentary dessert for her. I decided i rather drown in a pool than come back to this rockpool for a dinner.If any of you are looking for a good fine dining restaurant i would recommend “The Zafferanos” anyday  its good value for money and just a bit more friendly on you wallet  and still the best gourmet food ever with million dollar sea views.

In October 1973, a 78-member goodwill mission from the Kagoshima prefecture visited Perth. Among the leaders of the party were Mayor Sueyoshi and five Members of the municipal assembly. On October 30th, Mayor Sueyoshi formally invited the City of Perth to sign a sister city agreement. The details were finalised in discussions between Lord Mayor Lee-Steere, Mayor Sueyoshi, Town Clerk G.O. Edwards and his counterpart, Mr Fumiyoshi Ogata, and on 19 November the full Council agreed to formalise the sister-city affiliation. The Lord Mayor, Mr Lee-Steere, led a group of Councillors and citizens of Perth during a visit to Kagoshima for the signing of the sister-city agreement, which was formalised on 23 April 1974. Perth Glory’s director of football Dave Mitchell has flown to Qatar to watch the Asian Cup and will pay close attention to the Indian striker’s performance against Australia on Monday night (Perth time). The 26-year-old signed for Major League Soccer side Kansas City Wizards in the US, was on the sights by Glory coach by Ian Ferguson before  he could land Chhetri before the start of the current season.

Big-name recruits such as Robbie Fowler, Jacob Burns and Mile Sterjovski have failed to spark Glory to success this season. Sunil Chhetri (born 3 August 1984 in Secundrabad) is an Indian footballer who currently plays for Sporting Kansas City in Major League Soccer.

Chhetri started his football career playing for school teams and then for his local club, City Club. Since then, he has represented I-League clubs Mohun Bagan, East Bengal Club and JCT FC. At Mohun Bagan, he scored eight goals over three seasons where the club finished in the bottom half of the league table every time. The next three seasons were spent at JCT where he scored a total of twenty goals including twelve goals in a single season where JCT finished second in the league

Entree and main course at Kailis Bros

One of my favorites at kailis bro has to be the Grilled Lobster ( basted in pernod and herb butter)@ 29.94 for half lobster and $54 .95 for full lobster. The lobster is always cooked just right , so that its just soft and ready to dissolve in your mouth with its nice garlic and herb garnished taste.

There is  generous portion of Garlic bread reasonably priced at $ for entree  , and i usually go for the decent size servings of the Mussels ( Traditional Chilli Mussels with white wine, chilli & napolitana salsa ) $19.50 to go with the garlic bread as a starter, Just right for 2 people. Though you should also try the Sizzling Garlic Prawns which is also absolutely delicious.

They got a nice drinks menu for their cocktails which will most certainly delight some of the womenfolk  as get the men folk also curious to try some ( though  most popular beers are also represented in the drinks menu).

Id like to say the place was extremely busy  as usual and also the wait staff was ever so attentive to the customers , with the waiter at our table regularly checking if we are okay  with the food and all.  They also had  a dedicated bar staff by the looks of it , we got a guy promptly coming to our table from the bar within minutes of ordering our drinks.
